Academic integrity is a fundamental principle that underscores the importance of honesty, transparency, and ethical behaviour in the pursuit of knowledge and education. It is the adherence to a set of moral and ethical principles in all academic endeavours, encompassing tasks such as writing assignments, exams, research projects, and collaborative efforts.
Upholding academic integrity means producing original work, crediting sources appropriately, and avoiding plagiarism. It also involves respecting the rules and guidelines set by educational institutions, promoting fairness in assessments, and refraining from engaging in any form of cheating or dishonest practices. Essentially, academic integrity is the cornerstone of a scholarly community, fostering an environment of trust, respect, and intellectual growth among students, faculty, and the academic institution as a whole.
