The Education Services for Overseas Students Act 2000 (ESOS Act) is comprised of legislative requirements and standards that ensures the quality assurance of registered education institutions that offer courses to international students who are in Australia on a student visa. Under the ESOS Act, the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2018 (National Code 2018) was established to provide nationally consistent Standards for the conduct of education providers and the delivery of their registered courses.
